![]() ![]() ![]() You can read more about ProBalance on Bitsum's website. When there is a high load on the system CPU(s), the responsiveness of the PC can be severely impacted. This will, in general, improve responsiveness and overall performance. ProBalance (Process Balance), is the name of our proprietary algorithm that dynamically adjusts the priority of running processes in an effort to keep your system responsive during high loads. This setting comes enabled by default and allows Process Lasso to dynamically adjust your CPU priorities with little to no performance overhead. In other cases, one wouldn't want to act on blocking processes. 1 August 31, 2011, 09:13:16 AM What do you mean Lags If so, try excluding game processes from ProBalance restraint by right-clicking process on the list and selecting Exclude from ProBalance restraint. ProBalance: Hitting ProBalance Enabled will start the ProBalance Algorithm. and for the person using it with an X3D CPU it should remain on balanced or it won't push the vcahe cores correctly. Download Process Lasso ( ) In process lasso, in the top left of the window, go to Main > and disable 'ProBalance enabled' ( Start the game and wait for it to reach the main menu ( Do NOT do the next step before the game has reached the main. This built-in algorithm, is what prevents lags when you use your computer. For instance, if explorer.exe is lowered in priority class, new processes it launches while 'restrained' may inherit that priority class, so we don't want to act on it. The game randomly will switch out of using the vcache cores, depending on the situation, like loading a new area for instance. Process Lasso Pro uses a special feature called ProBalance. It really wouldn't hurt anything if they weren't excluded, they just shouldn't be acted on. As for why some are excluded by default - those are found in our own testing and through a decade of real-world use. However, if you want to be extra sure process X never gets displaced in priority, then do exclude it. Identify your most critical applications by right-clicking them and selecting ‘ Induce Performance Mode ‘. ProBalance works automatically to help maintain responsiveness in the face of high CPU loads. Thus, the answer is: Only if you see a problem, which is surely almost never. Summary: Process Lasso can be simply installed without additional tweaking or tuning. It even has some specialized rules for some common processes, and, of course, a hard-coded set of exclusions. Also, they must exceed the CPU thresholds. ProBalance intelligently adjusts process priorities so that badly behaved processes wont negatively impact the responsiveness of your PC. For instance, it won't act on the topmost/foreground application, or processes of non-normal priority class. That is basically the only scenario in which ProBalance could have a negative impact and would need a manual exclusion. Another process (other than one ProBalance acted on) would need to make use of ALL the CPU, causing it to win for 'contention' of the CPU, causing stuttering. First, do keep in mind the *numerous* criteria that also must be met before ProBalance ever acts. Well, basically any problems would be very rare. ![]()
